Busy Week at St. Paul – Slinger

I fell a week behind when I failed to post that this past Sunday and Monday (2/15 & 16) I preached and did Bible Class at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Newburg, WI.  The Life Celebration Services went well and we had about 90 people in Bible Class.  It was wonderful and their choir sounded great!

This is a busy week at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Slinger, WI.  Tonight (Wednesday, 2/18) is Ash Wednesday.  Pastor Castillo will kick off our Lenten series on “I Tell You the Truth” as we consider the passion of Christ and what it means for all of us.  Lenten Services are on Wednesdays at 4pm and 6:30pm.  We are having a supper between all of these services (5-6:15pm) starting tonight.  Tonight’s meal is served by the Church Council.

Tomorrow night (2/19) I will preach for the 6:30pm Worship Service on the theme of “Live Boldly the Power of Jesus’ Name!” based on Acts 4:7-12.  I am just preaching for Thursday night because on Sunday Pastor Mark Zarling, the president of Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, will be our guest preacher and Bible Class presenter.  The text and theme were his choice – I am crafting my own sermon for Thursday.  President Zarling’s emphasis will be on the work we do at Martin Luther College in training the future pastors and teachers of our church body.  He will also present the Bible Class between services.

Everyone is invited to all of these events.
